Local Pubs, Cafes & Restaurants

To make your stay at Little Dunley Cottages even more special, we thought we would share with you a few of our favourites and recommendations:

The Dolphin Hotel & Restaurant- Bovey Tracey
The Dolphin is a 19th Century converted coach house with a lovely welcoming feel and excellent food. The steak is a must if you visit here for an evening meal.

The Claycutters Arms – Chudleigh Knighton
If you’re looking for a quintessential Devonshire picture postcard pub then the clay cutters arms is for you. Offering local produce in the surrounds of a grade 2 listed building.

The Manor Inn – Lower Ashton
A warm and welcoming local country pub set in the beautiful Teign Valley . They are well known for their real cask ales, and the very delicious locally caught fish and game. If you’re feeling extra hungry then give their game pies a try.

Cafe 3 Sixty – Bovey Tracey
A recently opened cafe with cyclists in mind where you can go for a caramel milkshake and get your bike repaired at the same time with their in-house bike repairs. However you do not have to be a cyclist to take a visit here but be warned, you will pop in for a quick coffee and end up spending hours in here just admiring their quirky and amazing decor.

Home Farm Cafe – Bovey Tracey
You will never have another dull train station baguette after you have tasted their bacon, slow roasted tomato and goats cheese baguettes here! They also do a mean cream tea, but don’t worry, the cafe is set in the gorgeous Parke National Trust site so there are plenty of picturesque walks to do to burn off those scones.

"The cottages were so relaxing and beautiful you don’t need to bring everything as they have everything readily available with Co-op and Tesco so local. It’s a brilliant location for kids - the games room and swimming pool offer hours of entertainment for kids. I spent the whole weekend with the kids there and didn’t feel like we had to leave. Really, really enjoyed my stay."

"Lovely cosy and quiet place to relax with the family. Games room and pool much appreciated and lots of thoughtful touches. Passes the fully-equipped kitchen standard with sharp knives, plenty of implements, a wok and even a pizza cutter! Would return."

Sarah, Cheshire

"Had a lovely time. The cottage was just perfect with all the comforts. Really enjoyed the log fire and how clean it was. The owner was very helpful and was there to help straight away."

"We had a wonderful holiday in Oaktree Cottage and will definitely back! We took full advantage of the pool which we had to ourselves the majority of the time - the kids had a great time and their swimming improved amazingly! The cottage is "in the middle of nowhere" but a short drive away there is a huge amount to do... Thank you for a lovely holiday!"
