Your Romantic Escape Awaits

What better place for a getaway for just the two of you than at one of our romantic holiday cottages in Devon? Set in 24 acres of countryside on the edge of Dartmoor near Bovey Tracey, our cosy cottages sleep two, and some even have their own private hot tub, giving you a chance to unwind.

Whether you want to stay put and relax or head out to explore, there’s so much to do during your romantic break in Devon, including in-cottage treatments, places to visit nearby, and options if you’re bringing your dog.

Unwind in Your Own Private Hot Tub

A selection of our cottages for two features a private hot tub. After a long day of exploring Dartmoor or along the coast, you can relax outdoors without leaving your accommodation.

  • Maple has a king-size bed and a private outdoor hot tub.
  • Willow also has a king-size bed and its own hot tub.
  • Hazel has a king-size bedroom and an open-plan kitchen and dining area, along with a private hot tub.
  • Holly is our fourth hot tub holiday cottage for two.

Every one of our holiday cottages has a well-equipped kitchen for cooking dinner for two, and a TV with Freeview. Our hot tub holidays are available all year round, so these cottages work just as well for a winter break as a summer one.

Romantic Places to Visit Near Our Holiday Cottages

Our idyllic location puts us between Dartmoor and the South Devon coast, so you can choose between open moorland and sandy beaches on the same break.

Dartmoor National Park

Dartmoor National Park is right on our doorstep. Haytor is one of its best-known granite tors, with expansive views across the moor and even towards the coast on a clear day. Becky Falls, a woodland waterfall, is also nearby. Both make a great setting for a romantic walk together, followed by lunch at a country pub, and are just a 15-minute drive away.

Bovey Tracey

Bovey Tracey, known as the Gateway to the Moor, is our nearest town. It has independent shops, cafes and places to eat, so it is an easy option for a relaxing morning or an evening meal out.

Shaldon, Torquay, Paignton and Goodrington

The beaches at Torquay, Paignton and Goodrington are all within easy reach for a day by the sea. You can walk along the seafront, stop for fish and chips, and be back at your cottage in time for a romantic evening in with just the two of you.

The Smuggler’s Tunnel in Shaldon is also well worth a visit, where you can walk through the cliffs onto Ness Cove Beach.

Romantic Things to Do for Couples

If you want ideas beyond sightseeing, these are easy to fit around your romantic break:

  • Dinner at a country pub: There are several welcoming pubs close to our cottages, a short drive or taxi away.
  • A sunset walk on the moor: Dartmoor’s high grounds allow you to experience open views at the end of the day. Don’t forget to take a torch and check sunset times before you go.
  • Stargazing: Away from town lights, the skies over the countryside are darker than in most cities. A clear night in the hot tub or on your patio is a simple way to make the most of it. The Tiny House also has a fire pit to keep you warm at night.
  • A day on the coast: Combine a beach walk with lunch by the sea, then head back inland for a quiet evening.
  • A night in: Snuggle on the sofa, cook dinner for two and settle in with a film.
